Marek Sepek is an entrepreneur in the real estate industry. He and his family moved to Ontario, Canada in 1989 where he began he high school years. He worked in various jobs where he educated himself in the real estate market place. By the age of twenty, Marek had purchased his first home. He renovated it and sold it. It was the basis for him to continue a successful career in real estate throughout his life. As a second business venture, he owned and operated a tanning salon business. He expanded the business to three locations. He sold the very successful business in 2009, choosing to continue his focus on his real estate business.

Marek Sepk is married. In his free time, he and his wife enjoy traveling extensively. When not traveling or running his real estate business. He enjoys participating in the sport that he uses to stay active and fit. You can find him in a gym sparring with opponents.

What is your hobby?

The hobby that I like most is boxing. I like participating in the sport as well as watching others at events or while sparring.

How did you get started with this hobby? What inspired you?

I have always liked sports. I like to exercise. I think it is a good way to keep fit. lt is a sport that I share with some of my friends. I was inspired to box because there are a lot of benefits to boxing to stay fit and it requires discipline. Every boxer has to first focus on conditioning the body before you can even begin to learn boxing techniques. You have to eat the right foods to help you become very fit. You should do these things before you get a trainer. Then you can get into a boxing routine. A good trainer will help you to focus and to develop your skills.

Are there any groups you’re a part of or events that you attend related to your hobby?

I don’t really belong to any groups. It is a personal hobby of mine. I really picked up boxing to help me alleviate stress and to relax. It is a good way to spend my time. It helps me mentally and physically. You have to have a great deal of focus when you are boxing. The only thing that I do regularly is that I always attend the Ultimate Fighting Championship fights (UFC) and events.

Have you had to invest in equipment and if so, please share some of the things you’ve bought.

The equipment that I have for boxing are two pairs of boxing gloves. One pair of light boxing gloves 10 oz or less, to practice on a speed bag or heavy bag. The other heavy pair of boxing gloves are 14-16 oz and they are used when you have a sparring partner or are boxing. The heavier gloves are used with hand wraps for protection and to cushion your hands. The protective gear you will need, other than the hand wraps are protective headgear a supporter and cup, a mouth guard, and boxing shoes. The gear is not very expensive but necessary.

Where do you buy most of your supplies?

I tend to go online and google for supplies and shop online rather than going into a sporting goods store. Modell’s Sporting Goods has a good line of products for boxing. Dick’s sporting goods also has a good variety of boxing gear.

Are there any good books for beginners?

I don’t have any books I can recommend. Getting a personal trainer is always the best, but if you can’t do that you have alternatives. There is this guy that is great for beginners he has a channel called Permission Striking on YouTub. I am not sure of his name is but he does Saturday morning boxing work-out videos. He also has training videos and his own website. I bought some equipment from his website. He is a good guy to follow if you are just getting started or if you have been at it for a while.

How has this changed your life?

Boxing has changed my life in so many different ways. Boxing is a way to stay in shape. It helps me focus. It relieves stress anxiety, and fatigue and helps me relax and unwind. It builds confidence and strength. I stay fit. It is the best full-body work-out to help keep your energy high.

What advice do you have for others starting out with this hobby?

I would tell them to take their time to learn slowly. It takes a long time to learn boxing. 90% of people don’t even know how to properly throw a punch. It is good to have a trainer but you should first focus on eating a high protein diet. You have to focus on conditioning. It will require a lot of discipline and focus. Footwork is the most important part of your training. You can watch different training videos. Make sure to purchase the right gear for training as well as sparring. There are many videos available to train at home. You can join a gym to use their equipment. There are many benefits to boxing as a hobby. It is the best way to stay fit. It builds confidence and relieves stress, anxiety, and fatigue. It is a full-body workout to help keep your energy high. Remember that it is going to take time to become very good at it. If you stick with it you will give yourself many advantages in everyday life.

Are there any other hobbies you have?

I like to travel. I am European so I have family and friends all over Europe that I like to go visit. They come to visit us as well. I also enjoy taking vacations with my wife to experience different cultures and to see many sites. There are many amazing places in the world to see. We travel extensively.
